I am a member of an air rifle club on the grounds of a shotgun shooting ground, so plenty of posh nobs walking around.

As i was loading my stuff into the back of my terrano a posh bint walked past signalled to my terrano and commented to her accompanying nob "that's nice".

"Oh that" he replied, "that's a poor mans Land Rover".

Then he got into his freelander:lol:lol:lol

What a plick.
I wonder how many times the engine had been replaced in that?:lol:lol

My brother has a office cleaning company and one of his clients are a Major Landrover Dealership, and at night at least one articulated wagon with a curtain sided trailer arrives regular to bring back dead Disco's Freelanders Defenders and Range Rover's especially the sport, with engines blown or head gaskets or with the sport turbos blown which means on one particular model the body has to be separated from the chassis to replace it,
this wagon comes in every night from around the North West.

Another point about Jap 4x4's.In the Australian outback. That all the farmers drive out there. No landy's Disco's etc.

Not all Land Rover Owners are plicks, I got a 4.0 Range Rover as well, and still love Mavericks and Terranos

My club had a trial competition against a landrover club .First thing one of them said to me was "it's a good job there's landrovers here to tow you out " I went on to win outright :lol

Got the return match on sunday at their site , very hilly with lots of trees.

Wish me luck.

Ps most of my club have landrovers and take the pi$$ all the time but they've seen what the Mav can do and all say how good it is "for what it is " :lol

Best compliment was a guy came in to were I work and said he worked with someone from my 4x4 club. He said the guy had said "I was fecking mad , the places he takes that Maverick"

Some of the farmers around here use Fourtraks, but mostly landrovers:rolleyes:

They need the 3.5 tonne towing capacity.:thumb2

My farmer neighbour used to use Mitsubishi Shoguns, he then got a L200 double cab that could only pull 2.8 tonne.:nenau
He now has a Landrover 90 that pulls 3.5 tonne, I've drove it a couple of times and it pulls like a train.:bow It's as basic as a cave though, even a radio was a extra when he bought it last year, twenty odd grand without a radio fitted!

Aye:thumb2 Plenty of power in the new defender engines. They should put the tdV6 in from the discos. I've always liked defenders and minis.must be the spot welds and seams that do it :augie
