The past few mornings when its been really cold and icy ive went out to the terrano to find that the windscreen has been frozen on the inside as well as the outside.
Ive checked all mats and carpets and they all appear dry and there are no wet articles left in the car.
Is this normal for a T2 or could there be a hidden water leak causing the inside of the windscreen to freeze over?

Never had anything like this rag1873,even when my boot carpet was soaking(another story!) :?
-2 here know,so will see in the morning!! :?

Nothjng wrong ,we finish work 6am ,regular to find inner screen frozen.Dinky

the rear door seal and sun roof drsin tubes are common places for water ingress, there is also a plate on the bulkhead that some times leaks, but as you say the mats are dry!

thsi time of year with wet coats etc your inteirior soaks up a bit of damp, I have cured this by a 2 stage process,:

1 leave a dehumidifier in the car overnight to redress the balance, a small heater in their at the same time is good!

2 use the demister spray for motorbike helmets on the inside of all the windows it works realy wekk and saves a lot of time on cold mornings!

I beleive that running the air con along with the heating also helps keep the interior dry, if you have air con that is

Hi.
I purchased an old car once and in the boot was a stick on, 12volt heater about a foot long with 2 suckers, one on each end with a length of 2 core flex on it.
No cig lighter plug as the car did not have a cig lighter fitted!. must have been wired direct.
Think it was originally meant for rear window but it could have been used for the front one too.

Was not a pretty looking thing but saved some time in the mornings back then.

Them were the days. :?

Its quite possibly just condensation formed from when the heater or aircon has been running, Or even your breathe as you get in of a morning.

Here I'm above the snowline, and get the first frosts etc, just a 1/2 mile from me the temp can be 2 - 5 degrees differnace. The inside of the screens of all the cars I've had, have often frozen when not garaged overnight.

I spray a little de icer onto a cloth and wipe it away.

I've never had this prob with my T2 but it could be the fact that the truck is parked on the drive & the front bumper is about 2' from the sitting room wall & window & prob getting sheltered a bit as the ice on the front is a lot less than the back. When I was still at home with Mam & Dad my cars were parked on the street & I used to get a frozen inside screen quiet often & had to pray de-icer on the inside like CM  & then float to work

It suffers from condensation badly. But I made the mistake of starting it up, putting the heat on and the fan on full to defrost, then I switched on the aircon to dry it out, left it to run for a bit. then switched it off to swap the keys around and tried to start with everything on full... the batt was flat
Neighbour helped me jump her and she runs fine... SWMBO has being doing lots of short trips around the village this week so has not charged her up very well.
My mate checked the batt and alternator and all is fine, just need to give her a good run once in a while.
