Injector Leaking

Hi, after getting home from work I noticed a strong diesel smell and could see something dripping on the ground near the front wheelarch.
Had a proper look today and have a fine mist coming from the nut on the top of the injector, is there a washer that seals the metal pipe to the nut or is it a case of buying a new pipe.

Just had another look, its the injector nearest to the bulkhead the fuel is coming from where the pipe goes through the nut.
I have two days left in work and then im off next week, would it be safe to still use it?

Hmmm.. can't help on the injector front, luckily I have not had to do anything with mine..yet..

Have you tried just giving the nut a tweak, see if it will pinch up a bit tighter...

While diesel is not a dangerous as petrol, it does still burn pretty easily, so to be honest, if it was my car, and I was spraying diesel round a hot engine bay, I would not be driving it, but see what other people say.

No dont drive you may get a fire. unless thats what you want
sometimes the end off the pipe brakes off not repairable just replace the pipe.
have you tryed to nip it up first? also pull on the pipe were it go into the injector to see if there is any movement.if there is the end has come off or broken near to it.easy fix diy job

TEMP FIX to get you home put pipe into a plastic bottle to get you home but you will only running on 3 cylinders

Thanks for the replies, I tried to tighten it and the pipe does not feel loose, i've just bought a complete set of pipes from ebay for £15 used so ill try loosening it and see if it reseats if not hopefully the new pipe will fix it.

Are you sure its not the leak off pipes? Very common but easy fix once the Intercooler is off. Mine had fuel running all over the place and puddled under the car.

No there is definately a fine spray coming from where the pipe goes through the nut, I just loosened it up and it looks fine I tightened it again and the fine mist was still there.
I just hope the new pipe fixes it as i'm supposed to be picking up our first caravan next week

what version of Maverick is it,

2.7td, or the 2.7 tdi with intercooler ie with the scoop on the bonnet?

Its a 1998 tdi with bonnet scoop
