lol, thats like marginally tighter than a wheel bolt

But tbh i can only really remember using stretch bolts on newer vehicles, so i cant remember how it feels to tighten down an old style lump

Here's a frightening finding:

Measurements of the bore of the fire rings/bore on headgaskets

Genuine Nissan Headgasket cylinder fire rings = 99mm

Piston Bore = 96mm

The Blueprint gasket that I fitted = 94mm

The BGA 3 notch gasket that I've got ready to go in = 96mm

Now to the best of my knowledge the TD27 engine only comes with 96mm pistons so exactly what engine were Blueprint making that gasket for?!...

Wrong gasket or manufacturing defect?....

ka 24e engine perhaps ? ........ 2.4 petrol ?

That was my first thought.
If you use google images it's totally different as the KA has a timing chain box on one end that runs in to the head.

Jeez that sucks ! Have you emailed them ?

Wrongful advertising or sommit going on there mate

No the 2.4 is 88 mm bore, and due to the chamfer at the top of the bore thr fire ring is 91 mm, apart from that the waterways etc are different, Rick

I've always been extremely picky if i've deviated away from genuine stuff and I've never had a problem with Blueprint parts, but I genuinely think this could be a manufacturing defect.

Should have learned my lesson and got a genuine the first time around but it was on back order just to add insult to injury!

Stinka, I know all the staff at our local factors well so will be seeking some kind of recompense tomorrow!

Rick, do you see any problem with the BGA gasket running zero tolerance (96mm piston vs 96mm gasket) compared to the genuine which has quite a lot of leeway?
