ANyone got any know how on the heater/ air con?
I'll probably need to recharge the sir con system but at the moment there's no heaters either, just cold ish air?
Any ideas?

is the temp gauge working, i.e. is the engine temp working correctly? after that, isnt it the heater matrix at fault?

Yeah the temp gauge rises whilst driving so thats working. So whats the heater matrix?

heater matrix is where the hot air comes through, its like a little radiator, a fan blows air through it, like a rad the matrix is hot so the air is heated. just check for things like coolant usage higher than normal, wet carpet from leaks etc, if all that is ok, matrix is probably ok too...

First thing I would check is the pollen filter, when it's clogged theres not enough air flow to blow hot air out of system. Check the downloads section as there is a workshop explaining how to change the pollen filter. This is a common problem.

air lock in the heater?

thats my thinking Zippy.

like a rad, if its clogged, coolant aint gonna flow...

not sure about pollen filter, even if it was clogged, youd get SOME warm air, wouldnt you?? thing is, I dont think my car has a pollen filter,,,i though only cars with air con had pollen filters, i dunno, alli kno wis i cant get pollen filters for mine///

Sorry to say this, but not easily. Best thing to do, is check the engine coolant. If that appears ok, and your not having to top it up, and you don't have leaks, then I'd explore other possibilities first. To properly check the matrix, I believe you'd have to remove it, and it's behind the dash, can you see where I'm going with this??!

My fuses all seem a bit mixed up. Is it possible that the wrong, or no, fuse would mean the heater blew but not hot air?
