Incorrect gear change?

Hi, I have recently brought a Nissan Regulus 1996 with a TD3.2. Its an awesome machine but I have noticed when I accelerate from standstill it has changes gear almost instantly (yes its an auto), probably at about 5km/hr. The gear it changes into seems like the correct ratio for the speed. Is that normal?Or does it sound like a problem? I would be interested to hear from some experienced Nissan owners.

i would start with replacing the ATF fluid and making sure the levels are correct, then if still the same try selecting the hold button to see if it changes gear smoother.
