"Still, it's been good to see an election where we've focussed onn what unites us, which, sadly, is hatred."
Frankie Boyle.
I'll just leave this here :flush:

So the electorate has spoken.

I voted to leave simply on the basis that we should make our own laws and be in charge of our own destiny.

My late mother would today be branded an economic migrant she fled post war torn Austria in 1953. I came to the UK when I was 5 years old speaking no English and became a UK Citizen when I was 12 years of age.
I remember quite clearly being interviewed by a Plain Clothed Police Officer who endorsed my application to become a UK citizen.(At that time Special Branch had the role of enforcing Immigration Legislation)

I was in 1970 offered a job at Rolls Royce & Associates in Derby only to have the offer withdrawn when they found out afterwards that I was not first generation British.
As a sign of how things have changed when I was a serving Police Officer I went on to work in Special Branch for 4 years and part of my duties involved security checks for.....RR & A !! The irony did not escape me.

I just hope that we do not have a period of poor management by our Government who will put all the blame for their own incompetence on the leave voters.

I remember when we went decimal and inflation ravaged us that this was blamed initially for the price rises when in fact it was Harold Wilson's devaluation of the pound and the Governments relationship with the trade unions that led to unrealistic wage demands.

It's going to be a bumpy ride on the first part of our journey outside the EU but the destination will be worth the short term pain. Last time it was the Bankers that messed us up and the electorate bailed them out.

After the MP's expenses scandal I put Politicians a couple of rankings below a used car salesman lets see if we have a new leader who will step up to the plate and make Britain Great again !

Now it's the electorate telling the government what it wants I call that true democracy. I have no vested financial interest in the outcome like many of the Remainers. The Surfs have now told the Landowners what they want. Result.

PS I am a lifelong Tory Voter but believe in equality, for too long I think successive governments have had snouts in the trough one way or another. I have huge respect for Cameron doing the right thing in Resigning.

What about Gibraltar?

My wife asked this, What about Gibraltar, 97% voted to stay, but now they have to leave Europe, could this be an opportunity for Spain to offer an alternative European status if they vote to go to Spain at some future referendum?
At their last referendum, they wanted to stay with UK, so that may change.
Not sure how soon they could have a new referendum!

Also what about the Channel Islands ?

well I was in, though like many areas not 100%

maybe 70/30 in in myself

we'll manage we have before but think it will be england and some of wales
we make great after scotland leave, and northern ireland? perhaps the greater
london will split too as only full region to vote remain.

oh and welcome to a one party tory state, they've got us to to their dirty work
again. cannot see labour or lib dems ever in power again.

suppose scotland if split quicker than britain does could retain eu seat so it be
england+ that needs referenDUM to leave britain?

I hope to god we don't go independent, never mind anything else we need to weather this as the UK.

Scots remain voters are dreaming if they think we'd just be let back in - we'll join the queue like everyone else.

Already we have the French saying OK you are out, take control of your own boarders we are not interested, even though we are supposed to be bound as they are by EU rules for up to two years, yea right so eff to you too, this is a fundamental problem within the EU we abide by the rules most of the others do not, Rick
