Import t2 2.7 td pumps

HI CAN ANYONE TELL ME IF THE JAP IMPORT T2 2.7 TD DIESEL PUMP IS SET AT A HIGHER PREASURE THAN THE UK SPEC , ONLY TODAY I WAS TOLD THAT THEY SET THEM HIGHER IN JAPAN AND I AM ONLY GETTIN BETWEEN 12 - 14 MPG I WOULD APPRICIATE SOME INFO ON THIS BEFORE I START SPENDING MY MONEY AND HOW MANY MPG IS EVERYONE ELSE GETTING FROM THERE 2.7 TD TAKE INTO ACCOUNT MINE IS A (1994 M) WITH 58000 ON THE CLOCK
IVE BEEN QUOTED ABOUT £1100 FOR MINE TO BE TOOK OFF THE T2 REFURBED AND PUT BACK ON IS THIS THE GOING RATE OR WHAT

its cheeper faster and more mpg

Might be just a badly blocked mini filter:thumb2got told my pump needed stripping due to a blockage & was quoted around the same price but never got it done as MPG went up after sorting the mini filter:thumbs

my td drinks fuel like mad and low power

slightly better after fixing small turbo hose but still not good.
oily air hoses after turbo...... fixed now but still really crap on fuel and not good on power

i wouldn't have another td put me right off

i certainly wouldn't think about 1100 garage bill if i could have a good tdi for 900

if you took cash you'd prob shake hands at 800 anyway

Already had turbo hose replaced due to it splitting on way back from yorkshire
