So,
K&N installed, new MAF installed, New fuel filter installed, EGR blanked off,
and guess blumming well what?

still got slight hesitant and misfire at 1200-1400 revs when ticking over.

does not seem to do it when driving though.

turbo appears to be working correctly too cos can now hear it through K&N :lol

Any ideas?

oh and cant do access code thingy check cos my plug seems to be slightly different to one on the instructions.
the pic shows the plug how its mounted in truck.

anybody local that wants to have a look at it and tell me im imagining it??

id look at filters, both of them... big fuel and banjo.. see down loads

1. there isn't a banjo filter on a TDI is there? thought it was just a TD thing

2. They all have a slight hesitation when reved standing still, apparently it's something to do with the sensor in the gear box. Maketfit told me about it, and sure enough mine does it too:thumb2

sorry,
forgot that bit.
banjo filter has gone too.

now heard about this reving thing when stood still before, just dont make sense to me.

The hesitation at those revs is a funny one. I leanred that revving these cars when idle achieves nothing. The question is, does it idle at the correct revs (700 +_50)? if so, and it drives ok, then you should be fine. I would consider the No1 injector though, and also the CKP (I only suggest this because I had similar issues a while back, and these were two major repairs I undertook to fix other issues, including this one.)

whys it ticking over at 1200-1400 rpm or am I being thick again...?

im also confused, but I think hes suggesting hes revving it from idle, when stationary, because when in gear and driving, he says its fine...

just been out to mine , and adjusted the hand throttle so it " ticks over " @ 1200 rpm.... its revving its nuts off ...... i briefly tried 1400 rpm , but soon shut it down , the neighbours where wondering wtf was going on

try revving it out of gear and you will see what i mean they have a lumpy spot at that sort of revs :thumb2

whys it ticking over at 1200-1400 rpm or am I being thick again...?

was just about to ask that.............

surely at those revs its either going to be trying to andle the fuel from revving without load so it may hesitate or if its under load (driving) its a different ball game :nenau

ok , i tried selecting neutral , then adjusting the hand throttle untill it was revving @1200 rpm ..... then i adjust it to 1400 rpm ....there was a very tiny " blip " but hardly noticiable really ...... cant do it any more , bluddie neighbours curtains are twitching again :p

Mine does it, i did have some involvement with one recently that did this very badly but never got to the bottom of it :nenau

As I understand it at standstill the ecu uses a different map for tick over/revs, so it uses less fuel I think. The sensor checks for prop movement .
Once moving the running map is used and then you can rev it should you fancy. Free wheel it a bit and try. There should be about 100 rpm diff in engine from standstill to prop turning :thumbs I think.:augie
Briggie you cant play :lol

hi,
sorry, yes its ticking over at normal, 700-750 ish,
it is when you rev it, it does it,
so it seems its normal then, how very strange!!

but on good side, i can sleep happy now and know when it goes for remapping on dyno on monday it'll be running ok.

will let you know what it turns out like, a monster i hope

Where are you going for a remap? What figures are they proposing to get you?
I'm mad for a remap but getting conflicting reports:augie
What age is your truck and what ecu? Tell me now :sly

http://www.rstuning.co.uk/

only 20 minutes from me.
they put it on dyno as soon as gets there, remap and tweek it,
then redyno it and give you print outs.

recons 150 should be easy to do.
going for towing option, more torque.

the guy spoke sense when talked to him on phone and even invited me over to take a look.

not cheap though but sounds better than plug and play options, (sounds of incoming fire and running of feet............)

its an 03 2.7.

Im on Bosch MAF and pump, not sure of ECU.

Ah, it's probably new enough then :thumbs
Good luck with it and let us know how you go, it'll be interesting to see what's there to start with :augie

For crying out loud be careful you don't wreck their kit though, just read on their site that their rolling road can only handle 2400bhp :(
