ignition(start) switich

Help, I need a new ignition switich for our Maverick 2.7 tdi, the black switch on the end of the barrel, local Ford do not have one, can anyone tell me where I might get one and the cost.

Your local Ford dealer may not have the switch in stock...but they should certainly be able to order one for you.
I would get back on the blower to them and get em to order one in for you.

i had a problem like this at work today for a fuel pump on a granny '89 they said it was on back order at the end of feb and they called today to say it is no longer available.

I could believe that they might not have a full range of spares for an 89 Granny...cos I have an 86 Granny :smile: ...but a Mav is a hell of a lot younger and I would fully expect that they still carry most spares.

I went to QUICKCO/LAIDLAWS today..this is a Ford spares centre in Bellshill near Glasgow/ Motherwell..I was looking for a new wiper linkage bar...guy looked it up on his puter...fully illustrated with diagrams of exploded wiper components...no probs..picking it up at 9.00am tomorrow.

Incidentally the reason I just a bought my Mav is the demise of my beloved Granny..the Ford variety that is...2.8 V6. 4x4....pulls like a train when towing my van. Sadly she has developed an ABS fault along with the rusty arches and other niggles I have decided to retire the old girl..

She still has 2 months m.o.t on her ...so if you want it come and get it.... :lol:

not sure what ford charge but iv'e been quoted £35 plus vat for the same switch from nissan.i ordered it on saturday and they rang me today to say it had arrived,trouble is i'm doing 12 hour shifts at the mo so i can't fetch it until next saturday.incidently i work next to a ford dealer so when 1 of them sneaks out the back for a fag i will ask him if he can give me a price for 1.
