ignition barrel

been having some trouble with the ignition on my 97 terranoII 2.7 tdi touring.when i turn the key to start if i turn it hard it kills all the electrics,but if i'm gentle it starts fine every time.my question is can i just change the barrel or will i have to do the locks and have the egr re coded.any advise would be greatly appreciated

it may be the plastick wiring part at back ignition cracked few have had the fault have a search may be easier repair than u think ....hopefully lol

Yep I'm pretty sure it is the plastic switch that screws to the bottom of the lock barrel. Mine's exactly the same, I've got the switch just have to find the time and enthusiasm to do the job. They are approx £35 from a Nissan dealer.

thanx for that will check it out.does any one know if they are the same as a 1995 as i know some one that is breaking one.mines a 1997.
