Yes, I want a Volvo 850, 240, 960, or v70 estate, dad had a 850 then wreaked it:( and I want one:D so I was thinking of obviously getting my little Hyundai on the road, probably build up some NC, selling the Hyundai as its a very good clean car then seeing about getting a Volvo estate:)

Getting rid of the terrano then?

I can only now just about afford to run two vehicles.

why not build up no claims then insure truck? Volvo probably cost more to insure

looked at a v70 before we decided on the vectra( it was a mpg call!). good size but bit thirsty for a "modern" car, vectra cdti does 60 mpg, vectra wasn';t to good at pulling so we got terry. it had the power, but it smoked the tyres in really inappropriate places....sleepy villages etc etc
good car the volvo.

Basically because my truck is expensive to run, and with no carpets etc, its more a toy and camping vehicle, the Volvo would be my daily driver, a 2.0 850 is 750 ish for my to insure at present

Definatly not, the terrano is going on a limited mileage thing so won't be as much a year

It will still be about £500-750 for you in a few years even on limited mileage. Who knows maybe more in the future.

makes sence I suppose quite cheap a mate off mine whos lad just passed his test just got a quote off 1600 quid on a 1.2 litre don't know what the car was though

Aye, but their is the multi car policies, where I could put both vehicles on the same policy, thus, refusing the quote

Aye, well I'd by looking at a 2.0L that will do 30mpg+

volvo diesels dont do 30 mpg in real life not even the diesels, sorry. astra or corsa 1.7diesel will. if you are looking at a couple of hundred quid type cars you have got to ask a couple of questions..
1. is it cheap because its thirsty
2. is it cheap because, although it is good on juice, it is mainstream
3. its a pile of shite

if you need mpg and space vectra estate all the way, the earlier 1.7dti will run on single tank veg oil too. volvos are a good car, but they are cheap for a reason, mpg

I'd be looking at the petrol ones tho

Volvos are good for reliability but just as thirsty as a terrano only volvo I would entertain and that would be a little drift machine

so low 20 mpg at best. i had a 360 glt, taxed an motd for 7 months, full sevice history, 1 owner. £ 40 quid at auction i paid, no other bidders, great car, mint, thirsty as fook! if you are on a budget i would avoid volvos purely for mpg.

yep, sex wet done :D

96, you must have a petrol terry then.....sell it, get a diesel one, offset the insurance by using veg oil( i save 10 quid for every 20 ltrs i put in it). job done.
