I fancy a swb or a commercial

I fancy a swb for messing about in, would use it for work or when i'm on my own, might even try green laning, keeping the lwb as the family car.
I've seen a swb in the car park at work today, It had been raised, nice set of big AT tyres, bull bars with lights, roof light front and back and about 3 gallon of mud on it, it looked the dogs bo**ocks!!!, Just the way i would want 1 look. dont want to mess with the lwb, so set my mind on buying a 2nd one, what would the above mods do to the insurance though? Anyone with any experiance of mods and insurance companies?

modders of swb, extreme, make it fit and adz. all on bigger treads, body trimmed etc.

the swb is neat, and not much smaller than lwb, well not as pronouced as say
defenders, shoguns etc, think glass has been done to look more like shrunk than
a section chopped out.

mind reckon a lwb could be built well to, see recently sold example by elty0001.

there is atleast one swb that has been tray backed though not sure member here.
and a spanish swb that gained a live front axle, on youtube somewhere.

Insurance price, Depends on who you go with.

If you want to go for quite a few mods look at adrian flux (who me and makeitfit is with). I asked them for a quote for 2nd battery,winch, winch bumper, 2" spring lift, snorkel and the price was the same.

£650 for me but I am only 22 and have just 2yr NCB. It's also a limited mileage policy (5000miles a year). I don't drive far for work so its perfect for me also just as a play toy. I can always upgrade it too.

when you search for a decent used one, 3's seem cheaper than 2.7's :nenau

maybe the bad reputation the engine had in earlier Patrols?

also they don't like alternative fuels as much as the 2.7 (again this is speculation as i have never had one)
