£1200 :eek: fooook me , at that kinda dollar I'd rather a warn 8274 and have change to buy a bumper for it :augie
 
I'm not sure a power steering pump will give you the flow rate and maintain the pressure anyway, so a second pump with some form of cooler might be the answer.
However, it would be a fair cooler to stand the high pressure, so might need a heat exchanger first.

I must admit, I was quite surprised how much pressure power steering pumps provide, must be taking a fair bit of power off the engine

You got it in one pressure and flow rate, first the cooler will be on the low pressure return, second pressure and flow rate, well your injector pump delivers around 2000 psi but at a very small flow rate so does not pull much power but 1500 psi at a good flow rate pulls quite a lot so much so it will slow the engine at idle unless the pressure switch cuts in to increase the revs, but all of this will only happen if you are pulling on the steering wheel, at all other times there is no pressure it just circulates back to the tank, otherwise the fluid would boil very quickly, Rick
