When I send anything to the tip it is totally useless, over the years I have removed washing machine parts that have come in a few years later, eg a motor, timer, a couple of water solenoids all used to keep the next one running.
I even had a spare mini windscreen when one night my wife was surprised that I could repair it that night.
Pieces of scrap metal, including the odd sheet of aluminium, oh and the side of a neff cooker which I re jigged into a heat shield on the boat. It was flat galvanised steel, and it has been a heat shield, much longer than it was a cooker side..:lol
I have kept 12 volt water pumps off the boat, that later on became a donor for a newer pump.
My wife doesn't understand, she calls it all junk...:doh
Junk in the garage, junk in the loft, junk in the shed and even junk in the roof space in the garage.
The good news is that I know where it all is... but it takes hours to locate it as you have to move other junk that's in the way. :doh
The other day, I remembered I had some silicon sealant, at least 3 tubes, so no need to buy any.....
When I tried them they had all gone off as most were over 5 years old, so it can back fire sometimes, then you have to go out and make a special journey to get what you thought you had already got....:lol:lol:lol
I just call it recycling, sounds greener than saying I tat with old secondhand junk....
Really I am too tight to buy new, I think everything should last forever...:nenau
