I have just replaced my fuel primer, owing to the original one having a split in it...
What I want to know is, what is the correct way to prime the system?
The reason I ask is, on the original primer of the T2, and the primer on the T1, I just kept pumping the button up and down until it went hard, which could take a lot of pumps. Since changing to clear tubing, you can actually see what is happening, and watch the fuel slowly making it's way through the system.
On the replacement Primer, it has a little white "Tap" on the side, which neither of the other primers do. I found that when I tried to prime that one, it would go hard after a few pumps, but the fuel had not come through to the filter, but when I opened the tap, it would hiss, and I would see fuel come up the inlet pipe... I tried pumping it with the tap open, but that failed to do anything... I then did it up, and could pump the primer again till it was hard, and then again, I had to undo the tap to get the fuel to come right the way up... This method seemed to take a lot less pumps to get it primed though.
Is this correct, and if so, how on earth would you prime it, if you did not have clear pipe? If it is not, how should I be doing it.
