I only use the terrano at the weekends to go shooting (Hunter Field Target).

Some weeks it will do only 5 miles, others 150 miles.
So due to the fact it spends most of its time parked in the road outside the house, normally under trees where the birds use it for target practice of there own.

I always give it a good jet washing making sure to apply plenty of the wax option every Sunday before leaving it park up for the next five days.

But i read recently due to all the salt and grit on the roads this time of the year my best bet would be to put it through a proper carwash which includes an under chassis wash, as to avoid it spending the entire winter caked in said salt.

So yesterday went to put the terrano through the local carwash only to see warnings not to use on vehicles with any roof extrusions (i have the roof bars that go from front to back) and also not to use if vehicle has a rear mounted spare wheel.

So anyone know of if there is any way around this.
Many thanks,
Kelley

I normally use a hose pipe but to get rid of the salt I use a Karcher under body lance, reaches underneath past half way.
If the roads are clear I normally take it for a drive to dry off the underside.

When I wash the car, I rinse with rain water from a watering can, so when it drip dries it doesn't leave white water marks from the tap water.

I have never used a car wash, too mean I guess, but I have fitted a tap with a coiled hose pipe next to the door of the garage so I can rinse off the worst.

hay there still a carpark on top of a shop there??

I dont know about that, the only shops i use in watford are B&Q, and sometimes tescos. Both just out side of the center, which i try to avoid.
