How do I open these type of pictures ?

I know I am not alone being on other sites but I can't work out how to open these little silver squares that are pictures ?

Can anyone help ?

I've had this problem. I think the issue is that the original post was in 2009 and although the text of the post is still available, the images have been removed from the host server by a "housekeeping" schedule to free up server space.

Text takes up very little room, whereas images take up a huge amount of space. I've found lots of old forum posts are like this. You're not doing anything wrong, the image is just not longer available.

A more likely scenario is that the guy who uploaded the pictures used a site such as Photobucket, Imgur , or Imageshack etc and has either closed the account or moved the pictures into a different album rendering the links redundant.

The little image you see in the forum thread itself is just a picture "placeholder" to let you know that's what should be there.

If you right click on the little picture and do "copy link address" you will then be able to paste that into your URL bar which does indeed link you back to Imageshack and gives you a Page 404 which basically means the image doesn't exist anymore
