how big are my nipples?

im wondering if anyone knows the size of the bleed nipples front and back on a 97 terrano2 27tdilwb ,cheers hoping to replace disintegrated ones

hahaha rusty as well,is the pipe diameter 3/16 on the terrano as well

without checking i think the nipple heads are about 10 mm as far the pipe goes i think they pretty much standard size for all cars not just terranos, someone will be along soon to correct me and give the proper sizes for both

Sorry to harp on about Waxoyl, but if you had put waxoyl on the threads of the nipples, you wouldn't have this problem. :thumbs

I put it on the threads of the brake pipe unions and when I replaced the rear cylinders they undid like new. 16 years later..... All pipes still original.

Put waxoyl on your "Nuts" as well.

ii fully agree with yer on preventing the rust but i inherited it like this im the one who sorting out all the previous owners neglect waxoyl on yer nuts as well though shall ii put some on the car as well to be safe ?

had same problem with my old terrano . the bleed nipples had rusted solid . i used a blow lamp to heat the nipple up , (keep flame away from brake drum and cylinder thou. to avoid frying seals ) then used i think was either 8 or 10 mm socket and came out easily.

failing that drill the blighters out .
