Hot battery terminals

Hi all
My old battery was 690 Amp.I've replaced it with a 850 amp.My temprature guage was always stuck on a quarter.Since i've put the new battery on, the guage go'es up nearly half way sometimes.Also the terminals get very hot.Could someone tell me if its anything to worry about. Your replys are very welcome.

Hi Paly
Your hot battery terminal has not been tightened up properly,
also check the cable has not come out of the clamp [a common problem]
as for the temp gauge sound like the sensor i sure somebody with
more knowledge will help you out on that one.
