The horn on my new Terrano has packed in and is very quiet and tinny.

I removed it earlier and it's one of the 1 plug Bosch ones unlike the older facelift Terrano horns with the 2 posts, I broke the post off the original by accident whilst removing and I've now had to bodge the facelift one in by running a temporary negative to it straight from the battery terminal

What OEM horn can I just go and fetch off a scrapper that sounds nice and deep? Preferably ones that just have standard spade connectors on and I'll just modify the bracket

I bought 2 air blast type horns off ebay, so much better, the original horns were crappy tinny things

You don't need to run all the way back to the battery, you only need to make a short wire, with a spade on one end, and a loop/ring on the other, then connect the loop/ring under the bolt that holds the horn on, and the spade onto the second terminal.

I kept drowning my horns, so got a set of waterproof ones from Halfrauds, as I needed them for the MOT, but I now also have one of those all in one AirHorns mounted up higher as well.

Ive got two horns here I found yesterday off my frontera if it helps. They did work... Don't know if they still do but your welcome to them :thumb2

Beat let me know, they are sitting in a rubbish pile :lol

Are they a meaty sound or a horrible girly high pitched squeel?

Have you got any wire to hand, just touch the terminals and then touch your battery, if it makes a noise then it works lol

If they sound OK, I'll take em off you mate, whats the bracket like compare to the Terrano horn?

Erm, I havent got any means of testing, oh maybe If i remember i could ask tomorrow at work, ill bring em in.

Yes they were quite good as far as horns go, not the girly beep we are used to :lol

Ohhh.. no, now there will be a whole thread on whether to remove the girly horn or not...:lol

I must admit the T2 horn is a bit like saying "Excuse Me Please", rather than the "F off" that I think a truck of it's size should have.

I want the horn that guy on Youtube has, he fitted a proper air compressor in the boot with a 15 litre tank, and a Train horn on the car... spends his days driving round the US, scaring the living daylights out of people, while videoing it.

I totally agree, one of these days, I may very well fit a 'blaster' horn..........:thumb2

I would like to fit some Dixie horns to the Patrol. Just for giggles:naughty:lol
