Or Hello everyone. New member here today although I've been lurking for some months now.

I'm a Brit who retired to Spain in 2005 and have been off roading here since 2006, initially in a Vitara [am I allowed to say that here] :) and since 2008 in my '94 petrol LWB Maverick GLX?

There's an informal club of off roaders who meet on the third Sunday of each month for about 3 to 4 hours green laneing [don't know why I called it that, it's the desert and there's little green]. I sometimes help out with finding and plotting new routes in my car or making notes as a passenger.

It's never a bad day when your truck passes it's ITV [MOT] and todays the day.:lol It's a pretty much standard RHD Ford, a previous owner has raised the suspension I would guess about 2" and I've removed the third row of seats so that I can transport my mountain bike [which is my other hobby].

When I lived in the UK I used to green lane on motorbikes with the odd trial and enduro before I discovered MTB's so I think I must have dirt in the blood.

I was looking at some pics and vids of you guys on a recent visit to Wales and it looked fun although a lot more technical than what we do here.

Finally a newbie question - Can I fit MK 11 Terrano wheels to my MK 1 Maverick?

Hope to speak to many of you soon.

Hi & welcome to the club:thumbs Sounds as if you have fun out there, as for the wheels all of the Terrano II wheels will fit onto your maverick apart from the 17" ones that were fitted on the later models as there is no clearance for the auto hubs as the later ones had fixed hubs:augie

Hey welcome to a friendly club full of advise!

I bet the weather is good up there too!

You are allowed to say vitara just not land r****

And finally when do we get some pics? :naughty

You will be made most welcome on here.
You'll be a star if you put up loads of photos of Spanish offroading at its dustiest.
Read the workshops and grab a manual for your motor. The old tin worm won't bother you much out there. David.

Hello mate. Sounds quality what your doing. I can imagine lots of desert/ random tracks to go playing on. Looking forward to see some vids.

What a great welcome. Thanks to all, I'm shure I'm going to enjoy it on here. I'll start touring the breakers yards here but will have to be careful about changing wheel/ tyre size as they are quite strict re type approval. Failing that I can get the wheels a much needed powder coating before renewing the tyres.

For every Maverick you see there will be about 15 or 20 Teranos and together they represent about 40% of all the 4X4s here. :clap Jeeps, Suzukis, Discos, Lada Nivas and new KIAs make up the bulk of the rest. Writing this I've just thought that I haven't seen a RR classic in a long time and Shoguns seem to be disappearing too. Santana built series LR's are popular too.

Theres no tin month in mine at the moment but the sun has damaged the red paintwork especially on the roof, but that' a lot easier to fix / ignore :naughty.

After a few years I stopped taking the camera with me so most of the pics are of the Vitara but I'll have look and see what I can find. The next meet is on the 19th and I promise to take it with me then and if you like on all future runs.

The weather has only just broken after the longest dry spell since I've been here so much of the dust has been laid but it will be back!

Has anyone fitted a poli bush kit, good idea or not?

This site is becoming addictive and I find myself pricing up kit I didn't know I needed. Must resist.

I've got poly bushes on mine, or at least I will have until I change my front droplinks for a pair made by Bigbunny using rose joints (still have the bushes on them obviously, and when needed I might investigate fitting polybushes on them too)
The polybushes definitely last longer and they are less prone to pulling through the enlarged hole in the wishbone - I have mostly got round that by putting a large washer each side of the wishbone hole though.
