Hmmmm...I have developed a creaking

Slave cylinder.

What does that mean?

It seems to work ok although sometimes the gears do crunch - normally 2nd to 3rd.

I pulled the rubber off and have put some grease in there and put the rubber back but it still creaks.

Do I need to bleed the slave and dampner? The hose looks good no leaks or ballooning.

Any suggestions greatly received!

Mine has done that in the past and I just replaced it, in fact it's on page 1 or 2 of my project thread I think

Definitely the slave.

Banshee, I've just reread the first 6 pages and I didn't see it but it's getting late here.

Do you know why it creaks? Is it likely to fail any time soon or do they creak on and on?
