Hello, newbie here. Just about to get a 54 reg auto Terrano. Not had either an auto or 4x4 before so interesting times ahead. Have a few friends who've given good advice already to help me out and hoping to pick up a bit more here. Cheers

We have loads of information on the Terrano, even access to a full service manual, we have also created workshop downloads, if you are really thinking about the Terrano, I really suggest you join before making that final commitment.
Rust is the biggest killer of most cars, the Terrano is not exempt, but there are some hints and tips on here that can help you save 100's on your repairs.
For rust, check cills mostly at the rear, inside and out, lift the carpet at the rear, look for signs of rust. Front wings can start bubbling from where the plastic trim is attacked. Check 4x 4 works, but not on tarmac, it can cause transmission wind up.
It might give you confidence that I have had my Maverick (Terrano in disguise) for well over 20 years.
We collectively know more about the Terrano than all the dealers put together, in my opinion of course.
If you join up soon, by paying the £10, it might keep you awake all night, reading about it. I think I have given you enough info to help you save your first £10 already lol. i'm sure a few others will be along shortly with a few more things to look for.:thumb2
Once again Welcome.

Welcome along from a fellow Yorkshireman.
Great motors if you know what to look for, I have had mine about 7 years, replaced with another brand.....but passed my Terrano on to my daughter for many more years of motoring (and I still get to maintain and fix it)

Take some time and find a good one

Welcome Bro :thumb2

It's ok...... you're home now, we've got you :thumb2

Wow, great welcome guys, many thanks.

Have already bought the Terrano. It's a friend's vehicle that he spent a lot of time looking for just over a year ago and has been maintained by him, he's had them for several years before this. He now needs a bigger vehicle for his business so this one became surplus to needs last weekend and now it's mine. He's doing a couple of routine things on it to tidy it up for me before I pick it up sometime next week.

Cheers.

Howdy, from another Yorkshire member.I think Rustic (AKA uncle Rustic) basically has it coverd.

Yes, he hit the nail on the head and I've coughed up the £10. I've already bought the vehicle though so it's technicals and manuals time lol.

Yes I used to sell fridges to Eskimos lol, but to be fair, sales are going up with the threat of global warming lol.
Yes you will find the manuals under Quick link, first one under club promo/ workshop downloads, you will see Briggies service manuals. Now if you don't laugh at Briggies Jokes, you will be excluded from this section :lol

welcome to the best site on internet...

Now let me think about that one for 0.0001 seconds....
No Brainer, Yes I'll agree with that one.:clap:clap

So much so we have members that had Terranos or Mavericks, and are still active members.
We are a family site, maintain a great atmosphere, and we tend to moderate our selves, I personally jump on anybody who puts them selves or others at risk... :thumb2 That's where the "Uncle" role comes in lol... All meant in the best possible taste lol...
