My name is Ivo and i'm from Croatia.
I have just bought used 1993 Terrano 2.7TD but I'm newbie when it comes to 4x4 vehicles.
I find this place verry useful and I hope to find answers on my questions when it comes to some issues that I have with my Terrano.
Ps. Excuse me because of my bad grammar:eek:

Welcome!

Don't worry about the grammar, there's worse on here.

:augie

Plenty of answers available on here, ask away.

Hi and welcome, if you have found the site useful, already, then when you pay to join, it will open up a lot more info.:thumb2
Service manuals, access to "How to guides", we as a group know more about the Terrano / Maverick than all the main dealers put together, even more so as these vehicles age.
We also like cheap fixes, many are free, just a bit of time, most fixes can be done with basic tools too.:thumb2

Hi good morning :thumb2

Keep an eye underneath, don't let the rust get you, check the boot floor and the wings rusting too, and the front cross member also.

Apart from that the engines are bullet proof, oh dont use 4wd on the road, only in mud/gravel/dirt otherwise you can damage it. :)

Do we get some pictures? :naughty

Yeah right :lol mine always costs me these days

Then again some would argue it's far from stock ;)

Welcome aboard and don't worry about grammar, this site is all about our trucks not writting skills.

As said, watchout for rust but other than that bullet proof trucks. Is yours the intercooled engine (big radiator on top of engine and a big vent in the bonnet).

I did say many are free to fix, not all.
Some extreme mods do exert more wear and tear.
Wheel spacers on bearings.
Excessive body lift on propshafts and suspension.
Larger wheels on transmission.
Deep water crossings on brakes, wheel bearings, water ingress to diffs, gearboxes etc.
Mud and water can encourage more rust etc etc.
so you either decide to be boring and keep it stock, and keep off the rough stuff, waxoyl it regularly, and keep your vehicle for over 20 years without spending much, or go for excitement, and spend a few £££ here and there. Your choice I guess.

Sorry to go in with the hard sell but you're not after a decent brand new set of Lucas Glow Plugs for a TD are you? They are usually well expensive but I got these at bargain basement warehouse clearance sale and will pass the savings on to you :nenau I didn't realise they were for the TD and not the TDi :doh

Thanks to everyone on a warm welcome and useful advices. I noticed some rust already, above the wheels and I also have some weird water leaks into the cabin so now i am searching where it comes from. @Banshee, I dont need glow plugs right now but i will keep you in mind if I will need them. Also I will post some pictures soon so you can see my new/old off road vehicle ;)

Where are the water leaks?

I'll bet we know just where to look and what will be leaking.

No worries mate :thumb2 I'll more than likely hold onto them as they are usually about £40-£50 a set and I managed to get these for half that nearly, Genuine Lucas LP032 Metal Road not the ceramic junk that finds its way into the engine when they break off :doh
