Hi People....I'm new to the club, an thought I'd say hi! An also start by asking a few questions! Start as I mean to go on ;)
I have a y61 patrol with ZD30 engine and auto box! The other day my gearbox decided to obliterate my flywheel! An in turn damage my torque converter! So...is anybody able to shed any light on the situ? Is anybody out there in ownership of a torque converter they may be able sell? As I'm having no joy getting one! I toyed with converting to a manual! But think auto is the best way to stay! I also need a flywheel! But genuine is a little over 300, so painful but not close to the pain of a new torque converter! Any help or guidance would be really appreciated :)
Many Thanks

Welcome to the forum and I hope you get it fixed cheap :thumb2

Welcome!

Plenty of Patrol nuts on here, I'm sure someone will be able to assist.

:thumbs

Welcome. I've a 3ltr auto terrano. Would it be the same setup? If so you could keep a lookout for a terrano for spares. Saying that not seen any cheap 3ltrs.

I see you are darn sarf , ..... get rick to check it out :thumb2

Greetings bud from another Y61 owner :thumb2

My Trol is a manual so can't help you out much on the autobox queries but watch if you're searching for parts yourself as flywheel usually refers to a manual transmission part, the automatic equivalent is usually called a driveplate (that's what it's referred to on the parts diagrams and in my Haynes) :thumbs

Was there an official Haynes for the Y61 Patrol then Rob?

Yes there was, i had one but sold it when i left nz.

Hi brakespfc, mine is manual also, best to go to a breaker for driveplate and tc specific to the patrol.
That is an awkward situation to be in, having converted one to manual in the past that would be the way for me, however i was in a country with plenty of patrols so it was easy.. Is tranmission ok why did it do that ? any reason. Does trans need replacing? Have you tried ringing a breaker for a price.. What year is the truck. Dont think this will be a cheap fix im sorry to say.

If you want to upgrade you could call ashcroft transmissions, see what they can do.

Brakespfc, like Daemo, I'm really interested to know what happend to cause so much damage?
I had an auto Pajero, and they are tough old things the autos. Was it an AT fluid issue, or mechanical?
