the city listings has loads of mobile mechanics on it, so going to try some of them. I have never used a mobiel mechanic, whats the usual way with these guys, do they come out to assess the job sort of free of charge?

!

my local mobile mechanic is just down the road and will usually have a look and give me a quote but some do charge a call out fee just to look depends how far they have to come i suppose, always best to ask before you arrange any one to come. as for doing the work it depends on the job sometimes they just crack on there and then and others they ay take it away to do the work, most prefer cash bu dont part with any until its all finished and your happy with the job done.

also, make sure you got a land line number and address.. as have heard of some not brinking back you car..

if you give the keys, no insurance either.. not a nice idea..

thats soem good points there, I'll make sure I take your advice.

I am going to try and ring some over the next few days, I am also going to ring a garage recommended by a mate of mine, sound slike they might "sort me out" for a reasonable fee, but I think I prefer the mobile mechanic option first, sounds the cheapest.

always get a few different quotes before comitting to anything and a good recomendation is always worth following up
