Finally had time to strip my ignition to try and sort my starting problem and found the metal innards have become detached. Has anyone got a picture or can explain how it goes back together ?

Thanks Brian

I tried many different methods and never got it back together, They spring apart when you open it.

I think they detached as you opened it rather than they were before. Time to buy a new one :)

Ok fitted new part today and still nothing !!!!!!!!

Car is cranking but not firing up. No dash lights on , im guessing no fuel pump , no electric windows.

Any ideas guys before I fix it with a gallon of petrol :lol

you got no dash light at all ?
got to be a relay or fuse
have you got 12v at the ignition sw ?

if look under bonnet, theres a fuse box with a 30 amp fuse in a fancy carrier thats marked up ign,
you tried that ?

yes , sorry sw is slang for switch,
you got any lights on dash ?
if you got 12v in to switch, have you got 12v going out when you turn the key ?

the supply from the switch must go to the ECU , but i dont know if it goes through the nats 2 system
maybe someone on here does,
any problems with the alarm, immobilizer ?

i had i similar problem last week. mine turned out to be the ecu relay,
tested it out of the car it was ok, but put it back in and no good.
try swapping the relays about

Do you have any other electrics, e.g, horn, head lights, hazards etc.

On the CCt diag, Page 6 on here there only seems to be a relay and a fuse between the ignition switch, and the dash.

I guess you need to see if the 12v is coming out the switch, into and out of the relay, and again the fuse... My guess would be a dodgy connection behind the relay or fuse holder.

Everything works apart from dash and windows
