Hi Guys, i've changed the head unit in the terrano today, without disconecting the battery:doh All went well, great new sounds, but i've got a flashing airbag light!!!!
Checked all connections etc every thing seems ok.
Tried a couple of online tips to reset it but with no joy, i've tried
1. ing on until light starts flashing, switch off, wait 5 secs repeat.X2
2. ing on until light goes out, switch off before light flashes, wait 3 secs repeatX4
3. pressing the door switch as mentioned on here

The only thing i managed was with no.2 the flashing slowed down and it looked like it was flashing oout a code of 1 2 1 2 ????
Off on a long drive soon so could do with it sorted before it does my head in.
options at the moment, black tape over light or it'll be a new place to keep my fag packet:p
As always your help is greatly appreiciated:bow

Been unable to clear mine as well, even tried hooking laptop up with consultz (freebe software) and ecutalk, but I am told you need the full version of Nissans consult to clear it and that prog is over £100, Rick

Looking more like black tape then!!!:augie

On my old saab 900 my airbag light was on. It went through 2 MOTs at a very keen place that let nothing slip through.... not even an advisory on the AB light.

If you are talking about your later Terrano it will have a seat airbag as well as steering wheel and dashboard.....check under the seat in case any wiring has come adrift...there are two plugs under each seat, one for the active head restraint and one for the seat side airbag....

As regards MoT, neither the airbags nor the warning lights are testable items at the moment. Crazy IMHO but true.

Theres also a short process in the download section on resetting airbag light....may or may not fix your problem.

Sounds like it is flashing you up a fault code.

They will start and end with 12,12,12. it will then give you the fault code (ie 23,23,23) and then end in 12,12,12.

The later Terranos have the NATS system, each time you turn on, the stereo retreives its' code from the ecu. It may be related in it not finding the stereo.

If you let me know what the middle figures are, I will see what I can do!
