Help needed - 4 electrical systems not working

Hello guys,

A whole bunch of electrical problems suddenly appeared
4 months ago volume control on the steering wheel suddenly stopped working and Airbag light came on. Computer says something like “wiring problem”.
Also, emergency lights stopped working, and 2 weeks ago – coolant temperature sensor 
However, sensor resistance is OK, and 5V is supplied to it too. Apparently, it’s return wire damaged, but how can it be?
All wire harnesses are intact.
Fuses under bonnet and under steering wheel seems to be OK. Are there any more fuses in the car?
Can you please advise where all these wires may be damaged?

Mice come to mind with several unrelated (?) systems, have you had a good look round for signs of a nest? Rick

There definitely are no nests - car engine was changed about 3 weeks ago. So, all intestines were inspected from inside.
I plan to check wiring continuity of all component's soon. Where is ECU located? Under front passenger seat or in central panel between seats?

You do not give a year but passenger footwell or behind the heater controls are two places, if your engine was recently replaced then make sure all the earths were replaced correctly, there are two heavy ones near the battery one goes engine to body the other lighter one goes into the loom but there are several more braided wires body to engine and body to gearbox, Rick

Yes, it's the one from Workshop manual. I just googled "terrano ecu location"

I think this is not for our Terranos as we know it, ie the R20.
Over the years, Nissan have named the Terrano in different world markets, what makes me think it's not for our vehicles, is it has an electronic 4 wheel transfer control unit, we just have a dirty great big lever...:augie

I would assume the 'clock ring' behind the steering wheel is at fault causing the airbag light and volume control problem. It's basically a coil of ribbon inside a plastic case that allows constant connections as you turn the wheel.

What about emergency light and coolant temperature sensor? I don't think they go inside same casing.
Fuses?

That diagram looks like a left hand drive Mistral, if yours is a TDi it will not apply, Rick

Your car, is it an "M" reg by any chance and have you got a wrap round bull bar that says Maverick on the top with 2 spotlights on?

I saw one last night LWB same color and had masses and masses of waxoyl underneath as I slowed do to look at it, I actually drove onto the estate to take a better look but don't want to give too much away in case it was your car and you want to keep your address anonymous
