Sounds fishy to me but the anyone know better please say and stop laughing:):thumbs

Well I've got a mate with a disco:doh
It may cheaper on parts but you need a lot more:lol
Dont get a disco or else:nono

Well a disco is better off road than a x trail but they ain't cheaper for parts if he's looking at a TD5:augieI was going to trade the T2 in for one:rolleyes: injector wiring harness needs replacing alot like T2 maf's & around the same price, but have heard TD5's do like to eat cylinder heads which are 1k for a bare head:eek:in the long run they do seam dearer to run

:)Ok I like my t2 and yes its back and I have it :clap:clap
I bought it as a work horse no frills and thanks to this site I got it going again:thumbs:kissy
It has sailed through the winter and has done loads of miles trouble free but were do you go from here whats the next best thing?
Come on what you been up too:lol:lol

I heard a few bad things about the TD5 engine, summat about an oil pump drive bolt. I quite like the look of them and love the sound of the td5 engine. Anyway I'm sticking with my T2 for a lot longer yet as it's just toooooo much money to change.
Hey Wendy, if you've got a few days off come up to Yorkshire and help me tile the bathroom:eek: I got 40 boxes of travatine to put on the walls:doh

Disco, more unreliable than a Landy if thats possible and they rust to buggery....don't bother :)

dont forget that the navara has engine probs aswell, all the makes seem to have their own faults in one way or another, but the disco manual td5 will knock spots off a t2 anyday, i have dealings with both and l/rover parts are easier to find and cheaper than nissan. willow, go for the disco, more room and more power. :thumbs

thats what I thought so why would a xtrail owner want to trade for a disco:nenau

Its a 2003 and he wants £4000 for it:nenau

go on with you...they're cheaper bits because they sell so many of them!! And they are rust buckets....when was the last time a T2 owner had to drill out 60 spot welds to replace a rusted out rear floor, not to mention the rusted cross members underneath....OK late ones might be better but they're twice the price of a T2....no competition!

disco's rust, uurrmm the body is aluminium except roof, they dont rust as much as japs motors, you wont find many t2's in 20 year time lol, they will be melted down to make l/r chassis. :D

hi willow, dont forget that nissans rust aswell, you can buy most l/rover panels, but if looked after discovery's are ok, as you know i had a t2 and it was alright but in my opinion and that what it is, the discovery is a better motor. :thumb2
