Hello and eh up,

Bit of a late hello as I joined in September but better late than never!

Bought an S-Reg Terrano 2 SE Touring in Sept and been ridiculously excited about it since (just ask the wife or ebay). I was looking for a second vehicle in the family to get me to work through the winter (usually commute by bike) and fill up with bikes, camping gear, DIY stuff etc at the weekend. I'd looked at a few Discoveries before stumbling into Terranoworld. For my budget the Nissan was be in much better nick than the Discos I'd looked at.

So, my first 4x4 and first auto! Love driving it, puts a bit of fun into every otherwise mundane journey.

No major probs at all so far, I've done a bit of cosmetic tidying (spare wheel cover missing, clean up side steps and major valet). Could just do with a couple of the alloy wheel centre caps (part 403157F100 if anyone has spares). Also, the transmission knocks a bit on take up in reverse, don't know how worried I should be about this, seems to go ok. Just driving and grinning for now.

all the best,

Scott

Welcome to the club and enjoy

Hi Scott_A & welcome to the club 8) Your G/box might need an oil change but someone better in the know will be able to advise you better

Hi,you will get your money worth here. thats for sure. what sort of mpg do you get from your auto? getting 33mpg on a long run with my manual keeping the revs below 2500. regards....bri

ps I was born in lancashire.....................

Hi,

Thanks for the replies, great reception!

Ref. gearbox oil, I've checked it and there's some in but agree might be worth changing it on next service. I see there's a 'reverse clutch' on the auto box too, maybe theres some rattle in that? Really though it just sounds like the propshaft???

In terms of mpg, I'm getting about 25mpg on local trundling and the the odd motorway trip. I'd been fairly easy on the throttle to start with for economy but am taking the revs up a bit more this tankfull to see if it makes any significant difference (and also to try to get some heat going)!

Anyone any experience with dog/load guards? I might try one next year to keep all the camping kit in the back.
