Ahh, glad you asked.
Short list if issues so far (son brought the truck back late this afternoon just long enough for me to have a poke around and change the rear LSD oil), i'm trying to get it back for an hour tomorrow as well).
1. Possible issue with the 4WD - when in 4H or 4L, the front offside driveshaft turns, but the left doesn't (forward or reverse). I can turn both driveshafts 1/4 turn by hand then they stop (both) so the auto lockers might be ok. I need to jack up the front and investigate more on this as at the moment but i definitely don't have 4WD.
|Check your auto hub just for piece of mind, if it is the shaft that's a bit worrying :nenau let us know how you get on with that
2. Rear Door locking mechanism doesn't work (temp removed the little handle and fitted an internal release just for security. Also the rear window wiper doesn't work (all fuses seem OK under the bonnet).
They can get a bit gunked up, grease the mechanism, I'm sure there's an adjuster on the cable if I'm not mistaken, check the wires to the motor with a multimeter on setting 2 on the stalk , you should get a pulsing 12v reading, if you don't problem is with your wiring, if you do, you've got a duff motor
3. Bumper mount bracket on front offside has rusted off so needs a new long bracket fabricated.
Easily solved with by someone who can weld
4. Rust patch (would be a 3" diameter hole if i pressed it) on the rear of the offside sill, also on the rear door (bottom left).
Easily solved with by someone who can weld
5. Sunroof doesn't open/close - don't care really but it also leaks and need to get to the rain channels etc as its filled up the drivers foot well with water. I don't seem to be able to move the manual screw on the motor mechanism.
Can't really help you on that one
6. half the interior bulbs have blown (auto box selector/half the heater controls), radio LCD panel mainly blank.
Clocks come out easily enough, it might not be the bulbs, there's a conductive membrane that sits between the clocks and the bulb, sometimes these wear out and can be fixed with a dab of solder
Apart from that, tatty/dirty inside, but nothing a play in the mud won't make worse.
On the positive side - the engine seems spot on and the auto gearbox works as it should.
My main concern is the front Diff/nearside drive shaft. the front hub i quickly took off is filled with black grease (and will clean out both when i get a chance), but i don't think this is the issue as the nearside drive shaft should have turned in 4H and didn't.
Hopefully won't take to long to sort (once i get the truck back).
