I'm Pascal from the Netherlands.

I was searching for a terrano/maverick club because i have a question about my car.

well, there aren't any in holland (guess due to the lack of hills en mountains:lol) so i found you siten and I registered.

I'm missing some parts of the jack. I've got the jack (main "device") in the smal compartment (in the back, right side) and the bolt wrench under 1st rear seat.

I guess i'm missing some sort of arm/lever to "pump" the jack.:nenau

I tried several salvage yard's but 4x4 are a bit rare on our side of the northsea.

So can someone tell my wath parts i miss?

(forgive my school english)

Have you got the part that fits the wheels nuts? If so you will see a squire hole (for a better word) thats what you use to lift/lower the jack.

Paul.

Hi and welcome

you are right. Under the seat where the wheel brace is (or as you call it the bolt wrench), there is a long metal rod which connects to the jack. You then insert the wheel brace onto it to make a handle to turn the thing.

You can get them on ebay or look on here, since a few of the members are selling used parts for the Terrano.

Regards
Lee

Thanks:thumb2

I don't have a "long metal rod"........I will lift the seats when I get home and have a second look but i'm 99% sure i didn't see it the first time.

EBay is a good idea...

This is a pic of the end that goes into the jack, it is approx. 18.5mm square.

The rod/bar is ~900mm long and 11mm dia. with a 9mm square on the handle end.

Ray,

Thanks for the photo:thumb2 and the explanation:bow.

Well, this part I don't have:hmh. It looks like I can make a "replica" (I have had some metalworking experience on school:cool:) so i can make the jack functional. Can you help me with some questions?

The "jack" end is square 18,5x 18,5 (to fit in the hole of the jack). But what is the "thickness" of the.....euh.."knob"? (don't know a proper english word for it)

Is the rod/bar straight or has it bends in it?

How is it fixed under the seat? Is there a bracket or is it laying loose like the handle/wrench part that is in a plastic sleeve with a screwdriver laying loose?

Hi Pascal, and welcome to the club. It would be easier for you to get a square section rod, about 900mm long, that will fit into the square hole on the jack snuggly , and engineer the other end to fit the wheel-nut spanner, or even weld a tight socket on the end so that you could use a ratchet from a socket set on it. :naughty :naughty :doh :clap

Hi,
supertaff has a good idea;

The tapered shape of the rod end in the jack will allow is to turn off centre.
I suspect a standard 3/4 inch socket drive may fit the jack, so you could possibly use something along those lines.
The thickness of the end is around 13mm.
The width in the centre 4mm is 18.5mm, tapering down to 14.5mm.

BTW I have welded a spare wheel nut on the other end of the rod, so I can just use the normal wheel brace to operate the jack.

Hope this helps

Supertaff & Ray,

Thanks for the good idea's and the measurements:thumb2:clap

With this info I can make a replacement part (even beter than the original if I do the "weld on wheel nut trick" )

I feel safer going on wintersports in germany with a working jack in the back.

Hi T-Power.....the rod would normally sit in two plastic clips situated underneath the front of the middle row of seats.....

Okee, these are missing also:(...I've noticed some mounting points near the seat brackets so I will have to fabricate something.

Greatings!

Hi

All you should see if they are missing are two holes....the fittings are just simple white nylon c-clips with a spigot that locates in a hole in the floorpan....
