heater plug light

How long does your heater plugs light stay on for on your dash, my Mav's light only comes on for 3 seconds max when cold, when the cars hot about 1 1/2 sec, bad staring fist thing but rest of the day starts ok. Any ideas.

My glow plug light only stays on for 3 secs every time.
I tried the circuit out with a voltmeter and there is a supply to the plugs for about 11 secs after light has gone out. So, I turn key to on and leave it there for about 12 secs or so after light has gone out then start up and she fires up OK. :smile:
When the engine is hot I just turn and go--no problem when hot.
Don't know why it's like this but so long as it starts OK I'm not worried. :wink:

Your bad starting first thing may mean you have a heater plug or two failed or failing, they don’t last forever and are easily tested and replaced, if you have one gone I would suggest you replace all 4.

Do a search of the forums, there has been many topics on this in the past and also check out the downloads.
