With the ignition on one click the heater and radio work but with the ignition fully on neither work. I started the car and the fan was on then I noticed it turn it's self off. Stereo has been in for ages and I haven't moved or done anything to it. Any ideas?

Not had it myself, but a few people on here have had similar things caused by the ignition switch... do you have a big bunch of keys on it?

Try taking the other keys off of it, and just moving it a little bit, see if thing turn on and off.

Not sure if you can take it apart to fix it though, or if you will need a new/replacement one.

Thanks. I'll have a look later on today.

Any body have an idea how easy it is to change the ignition switch and price to replace?

Tried to remove steering column last night but couldn't get it off, I removed 5 screws and it still could remove it. It seamed to be stuck on the left hand side by the steering wheel, Is there something I have missed or is there a technique to it?

just trying to think if you got all the screws. I know there is an odd screw that's not immediately obvious. I had to remove mine the other day and initially had the same issue till I found a screw I had missed-then it just unclipped easy. Look under the left side of the column near the lever, I think there is a screw under there and you need a long screw driver to get at it...

I must remember to read my posts before posting.
I did find one hiding near the lever in the middle that wasn't obvious, but couldn't see any more in the middle .

hmm..must be the clips then, you have to squeeze the bottom part of the column to unclip the fixings, but also you have to drop the steering down too

Whip the connector off the back, WD40 it, plug in back in nice and tight and then give a nice blast of WD40 down the barrel aswell with a straw, fixed my issues

My car would trip out if I turned my key to the full extent of the barrel if that makes sense, confused the sh*t out of the bloke at the garage when I had my tracking done lol

I had forgotten about Friday night and the blizzard conditions coming in through the door and soaking the dash when I was running round putting ropes on and off. I did have a hair dryer on the ignition barrel and in the trough the side of the column cover that I could get access to and it seams to have worked and now I have a brilliant snow conquering Terrano back again. Thanks for the tips with the ignition barrel area. :thumbs

This is strange .... if your Ignition switch wasn't working then your heater wouldn't work as the first click is the AUX power????

Maybe it was second click that I meant but when the engine was started the blower and radio went off.
