I would like to try the two tank system but the missus has firmly said NO

We've got our nice newish drive and id get shot if I started swilling svo over it , cant see the problem myself :nenau

tbh though I wouldnt want to lose the boot space to a permanent second tank either.

I love the idea of the system though. Its the best of both worlds. The only time I had any real problems was when there was a sudden very cold snap the day I decided to try out 100% svo for the first time :doh:doh lumpy running was an understatement. I would have loved to switch back to diesel for a while. I can see how it would be useful to always have that available.

I'm sure that running the first ten minutes on diesel would also help alleviate pump lube problems too that worry a few people :nenau

are you tempted ??

Thats where the 2 stroke oil comes in handy :thumbs

I'm trying that out at the mo. I have to say the engine does seem smoother though it may be me wanting it to :D

One thing I cocked up on bearing in mind the talk on here about red diesel, I lobbed the two stroke in (I think it was auto lubes finest ;) ) and then noticed the colour of it.................bright red :doh

Daved, If I could be sure of no long lasting issues/problems then yes I would be tempted, but to be frank and honest I would like to meet someone whos got the twin tank system and get the run down on what they say about it, No insult to anyone on here as I think the knowledge on here is outstanding and so forthcoming, BUT you cant beat that hands on experience, so until I have the time to look into it then Ill stick with the D I E S E L as its better than D I V O R C E :lol :lol :lol ( cheaper too)

Daved, If you get pulled (by the police that is) just ask them to take a sample for testing if you get nervous, as it would be ok :sly :sly :sly in fact insist :sly :sly :sly I do see your point thou, up here in sleepy staffordshire VOSA are on the prowl big style for the cherry aiders

I'll take a pic of mine during the week as i have 2 clear inlinr filters & yes it makes it red ok :lol

Mine definitely runs better in the sense that it seems smother :nenau

From the rebuild i done its still on pump diesel with 1 litre of 2 stroke oil & petrol to thin out the sun flower oil...
I'm down to 1/2 a tank & done over 200 miles  :D

Daved, you need to start worrying if the get the crawlboard out especially if you are a agency driver (trying to earn a crust) and that 10lb lump hammer they have does my head in :lol :lol :lol I agree with you it aint the fact of the time waisted its the fact that if they had been around during 39-45 then gestapo/ss springs to mind :lol :lol :lol

thats 1ltr of each??

petrol and 2 stroke?

70 litre tank

1 plastic cup of thinners
1 litre of 2 stroke oil
5 litres of super unleaded
60 litres of diesel

(something like that, cant be arsed to go back to the thread :lol)

Done that to rid the system of the sun flower oil

"its a heat exchanger from a bloiler...

hot water in from one side, cold svo other side.. will come out hot.. ( thats the plan. and be a bit thinner for pump to work better.."

Sorry for being a bit thick!!! but dosen't that mean you need to keep you heat exchanger connected to you boiler to get 'Hot water from one side!!!!

From experience... measuring a plastic cup of thinners is a messy job as the plastic cup melts on contact with the thinners!!!:nenau:doh

today got and extra bit of ally to fit to exchanger.. thought it wobbled a bit to much today..

yes pics to follow
