2004 3L. Small damp patch suddenly appeared around driver's side sun blind mounting after heavy rain. Car was on level ground.
Have prodded-out sun roof drains both sides: they appeared to be clear. Removal of sun blind didn't reveal anything. Don't know what else to do next.
Any suggestions gratefully received (apart from wearing wellies in case it gets worse LOL).

You might have to remove the sun visor, pillar trim and the door seal to let the head lining drop down slightly. You should then see the sunroof drain pipe. Check the pipe is located on the sunroof frame correctly and also check the condition of the pipe.
Also has the windscreen ever been replaced? Might not of been sealed correctly. Mine is suffering from this on the passenger side.
Another source is the aerial too.

If you have a roof ariel between screen and sunroof, check that too :thumbs

The rubber seal around my sunroof became porous......why do you want to cut a hole in a perfectly serviceable roof...:nenau:nenau:nenau

Silicone sealant all over cured it for a while I guess...:nenau

A few cars that I've owned over the years have suffered with a similar problem.
The drain pipes get blocked up over the years with crap.

Pour some water down the drain pipes & see if anything comes out down below.

The MG I owned was a pig & I couldn't clear the pipes so I just sealed up the sunroof with polyurethane sealant. That cured it.

I hate sunroofs, I don't see the point in them :nenau

Drain Pipes

As has been said if it's the sun roof as opposed to ant roof aerial the drain tubing can block or simply perish / come off in the roof.

It sound horrible but when I had a irritating small roof leak on an old Mercedes I got some nice black insulating tape and sealed off nicely round the roof over the felt seals - sorted. Most casual observers did not even notice the black tape!

When I sold her I removed the tape !

It may also be the roof bars leaking.
Both my old and current Terrano had the same issue. Water would run down to the front screen from under the roof lining. I had thought it was the sun roof also but sealing it didn't cure either. Sealant around each of the roof bar mountings fixed my issue though both times.
May be worth a look if nothing else.
