well after being in wales for 6 months i have now decided my headlights are just , well lets say, shit :lol

can anyone suggest a good bulb, nice and bright with a good beam spread?

2 Spots on the front bumper & 4 on the roof & you'll see a good 3/4 mile ahead of you:thumbs night breakers are supposed to be great but washing out the inside of your head lights will also help as it's shocking how dirty they get over the years:augie

that sounds like something that might make me sweat

Yes I've heard fantastic reviews about the Osram NightBreakers

Here is a interesting Quote from one reviewer on Osram NightBreakers. "The light that burns twice as bright lasts half as long".

I have Philips Vision Plus in my van and they are noticeably better than the standard bulbs - a lot whiter and much better defined cut-off. About 13 quid a pair. They have been fitted for about 2 years and one needed replacing a couple of weeks ago.

H4 and nightbreakers every time.
I'd agree with that, fitted them to my Terrano over two years ago, still going strong (I even bought a spare pair because of the premature failure story but have'nt needed them. They have a much whiter light than conventional bulbs, with a longer beam.
I was that impressed with them I bought a pair for my UK car, a Honda Jazz, they've been in for over 18 months with no problems.
I think when Osram first started making them there was a problem with them not lasting long, but they brought out an improved version 2 or 3 years ago which seems to have sorted the issue, apparently they are now Osrams' best selling car bulb, outselling all their others combined.

as above, NIghtbreakers for me. Had them in all my car except the two I have now. Much better light quality, long beam, good spread, much whiter but in dark roads (where there is no lighting) they really make a difference.

just been on amazon there is still some osram nightbreakers about but amazon say thay are discontinued by the manufacturer in Jul 2013 so if you lads want spares it`s`time to get them .

Night breakers are fully legal, unlike some of the after market higher wattage bulbs, that also melt the bulb holder, but now you can buy ceramic holders with a H4 plug on the other end, so they just plug in, no mods, but leaves the connection open to the elements.

I have night breakers too:thumb2:thumb2

Brilliant !!:doh

Apparently they have superceded the Nightbreaker Plus with a Nightbreaker Plus Unlimited, has even more light!
