ok so it looks like i need to change the head gasket on my terrano, what sort of job is it to remove the cylinder head? only one ive done was on a mk 3 fiesta:lol i'm just looking for tips if anyone else here has done it :)

off and back on in a day easy, couple of difficult turbo bolts but unless you shear a stud not difficult, Rick

Best to check the head hasn't warped aswell. A lot of work to guess it's ok ?
A quick skim at Mrs Miggins engine shop should sort it

indeed, well, i have a mate who could do it, ohh, i found the oil leak:D:D:D

just went out to start my terrano from cold and all seems fine, no white smoke, and no problems cranking:clap weird tho,

when did it last have a blast up the road red lining it through the gears? Rick

Well if you gasket is suspect then you should be getting air/combustion gas into the rad water, to prove this hold your hand over the rad filler (it has to be air tight but could be hot so suggest plastic bag with rag) the with engine running check for air bubbles in top up tank, Rick

booked time for HG on 2.7tdi is 7 hours, be glad its not 3.0tdi zd as its best part of
double! thanks to the OHC

Doubt you gasket has gone then, white smoke is usually a timing issue, Rick
