I'm going to wire the old brake lights up as the fog lights :clap

Just need to fit a couple of balast resistors to the indicators coz they flash a bit quick due to there being no load on the relay.;)

......and the bumper has now gone.....

check the height of the old brakes as with lift might be pushing legal height

i say that presuming rear fogs have max height like front fogs 500mm springs
to mind.

i'd have a sing fog in centre of chassis rails area,

have hamburgers purely as tails and indicactor and keep brakes as er brakes.
cutting down on major dazzle for poor sods following you, especially on wet nights,

I think with bigger wheels & tyres + 2" lift, the brake lights are over the legal height of 1500mm from the ground anyway

The fogs can't be over 1000mm unless its an agricultural vehicle, upon which it can be 2100mm. It might just pass as agricultural vehicle considering the amount of crap all over it - I suppose the give away would be the fact it has working lights and indicators on the back! :lol:lol:lol

I wonder what the legal standing is on the factory fitted hi-line brake light fitted into the spoilers on Mav's & Ter's? Bit over 1500mm!!

dont think theres a max height for brake lights

after all many modern buses have 'repeater clusters'

certainly at the roof line of single decker or mid height
of double decker.

theres some double deckers in sheffield that have an
led strip light brake light right up on edge of roof.
thats about 14 foot up.

The rear guard fog light height could be the issue though.

There is also a maximum distance that the lights can be in from the edge of the vehicle, don't know what they are though. :nenau
There is also a minimum distance between the rear fog light and any brake light.

yep i wondered about max distance inside body line.

seem to recall front fogs must be with 500mm,

ok looking at rear but may follow pattern...

mind was suprised when some cars started having
front indicators to inner side of front 'cluster' but
guess they know the law.

I already looked into the distance thing before fitting them on the door.

400mm from the edge of the vehicle and fogs have to be a min of 100mm from brake lights.

good point so you cant use ham's as fog n brake

but the brake element of the hamb' could be a
fog with trucks standard brakes as brakes....
