Hi team

Last night i was reading the paper and saw a 10pc spanner / ratchet set reduced in halfords, even though i could of done with them when doing the shocks and torsion bars, i thought i would get them, and being a pikey i wanted a discount.

After looking at various web sites, and calling halfords customer services, i came to this:

Any member of the armed forces (or veteran card holder).
Any mechanic, enginer or maintaner (may need proof of qualification or blag it).
Any high user.

Any way i walked in to my local (barnstaple) halfords, walked up to the service / parts desk and said "Hi i'm in the armed forces, can i have a trade card please", "yes one minute" BOSH done, gave my name and address and ID card, sorted.

Up to 70% off halfords products and 50% off branded stuff (not inc ICE)

Deal.

Got 1 when they 1st started it :thumbs
Only use it for oil & professional tool range :thumbs
Most other parts i get trade through me mate :augie

them spanners are brilliant, got a set a couple of months ago, dont know i got on without them, very usefull, might try to get a card tomorrow:lol:thumbs

Not a mechanic or in armed forces:(

Is there another ways of getting one :naughty:naughty

Ya can get them quite easily :sly if you tell a little white lie & make a name up for a bogus mobile mechanic business :naughty :augie

Last night i was reading the paper and saw a 10pc spanner / ratchet set reduced in halfords,

used a friends when fitting second battery and i think they fantastic, unfortunately he would not part with them lol.

how much would these be with discount.

10 pc

10pc set is reduced down to 39.99 so with the trade card down to 37.99, sice its already been reduced, my mate I plymouth got a 150.00 tool set down to 93.999

Got one when they first came out, must of saved me ££££.

went into my local store and the stropy duty manager was behind the desk,i asked for a form, and was told there is no form, but we need a bill with my name on it and a wage slip,:nenau:doh stumped now.

I'll go with ya mate ;) & get ya 1 via mine :thumbs

Must be worth having one for the odd purchase :thumb2 but tbh I cant remember the last time I bought anything from halfords other than cleaning stuff when its three for two :D

I've found that their selection of car parts is not particularly good, significantly cheaper anywhere else I know you can get them even cheaper but as examples holts exhaust bandage £4.99 @ halfords last month exactly half @ £2.49 local motor factors, scotchlocks cant remember exact price but well into the clucking bell how much bracket, bag of 100 genuine £5 on ebay :nenau

The final nail in the coffin lid is the service at Halfords. Overall crap but often plummeting to apalling. Bad advice from generally unknowlegable assistants (some exceptions to the rule) if you can actually find an assistant because they all seem to be selling sat navs to chicks and playing with the stereos.

Even worse than that...........if it can get worse.............last time i went in there some old twat reversed into my car :hmh:hmh:mad::mad::mad:
