MDF and plack pvc, really that simple. Made it a snug fit also so that no screws needed. Heres a pic of the back to show just how basic it really is.
The hazard switch it one from a maverick at the local scrappers, just clipped it into one of the switch pop outs to the left of the sterring wheel and connected up the two wires from the stereo connector.
Simple but effective, have you got a pic of what the hazard switch looks like in the new location. I've got a older terrano so am interested to see:thumbs
hi, note yours is 2002, is the mk4, the final face lift?
my hazard is above the radio but looks separate, toyed
with idea of a large screen radio but hazard would be hidden
in use, wondered about, a second, slave switch near wheel.
how do you remove the old surround, as whilst it doesnt look
quite double din reckon small cb could go there too.
Looks good, where did you get the material from, your wife's thigh length boots.:doh
My wife always attacks my wardrobe first when she wants material, she chooses clothes that I haven't worn for a while, like those that one day I hope will fit me again.....:doh:doh
Mine is the 2002 and looks identical to a 54 reg just up the road, however as its right on the change over it seems to have a few oddities and it still had the built on radio/fascia style about 1 1/2 din? with built in hazard switch.
Heres a pic off the mav hazard switch, it clipped straight in and i only used two terminals as my car is only a basic open / closed switch for the hazards.
It does stick out a bit and i may change it for something a bit nicer but to be honest i don't even notice because of its position.
I got the material from boyes haberdashery department, it was about three quid for half a meter off a role.
mine looks like your now, only a large rectangular hazard mounted above
the head unit.
seen a picture of mk3 head, it filled the area and the hazard was part
of the head, think had 3 presets on bottom row, then the hazard then
3 more presets.
think my later mk4 is better in can swap head but still wastes space
above head, unless could get more switches there, roof lights/beacon?
also would be hidden behind a larger pop up screen, perhaps a move
is answer.
