Grrrrrrrrrr, Turbo Issues

Right jumped in the car at work and half way home my car started to play up.

Was in 3rd gear and it wouldn't rev above 2500rpm, it just started to judder really bad and the rev needle was just bouncing off 2500rpm like when you sit and rev a petrol on the limiter

There was also a very high pitched whistle from the engine bay which corresponded with the RPM, no MIL light and the car drove perfectly as long as I stayed off the turbo

I'm convinced its a turbo issue but just waiting for the rain to stop before I go out and dig around in the engine bay to find the cause

Can you guys think of anything else it could be or anything I should be testing or trying to confirm turbo?

Just a quick thought I've had

I had the Intercooler off to do my glow plugs recently, I'm hoping a loose Jubilee or damaged pipe could be the cause of my issue

Turbo pretty reliable usually , poor things get the blame though :/
More likely a fueling issue? Fuel filter etc or possibly like you say a poor I/C connection somewhere:nenau

It revs all the way round to 4000rpm if i sit in neutral so not too sure it's fueling or injectors

I've just read your thread from start to finish mate and it does sound like we have exactly the same issue

I think we need to stick together on this one lol

Not that I have noticed. I have just added mine gets slightly worse in the wet. Eml light comes on and off. Get code 53

Hmmmmmm It been wet here all day

I've had no light yet but I've just checked and 53 doesn't exist

I've just seen kitchenman mention the mini filter on your thread

I know mine isn't fueling as I've got no mini filter and ive got clear fuel pipes on my filter, so I'd know if it was fuelling

Glad your was an easy fix:thumb2 wish I knew whats up with mine but 99.9% all the intercooler pipes & clips are fine

There's a lot ofoil there mate. Check your blow by oil tank thingy. I bet that's bunged up

Glad your was an easy fix:thumb2 wish I knew whats up with mine but 99.9% all the intercooler pipes & clips are fine

Might be worth looking for a hole in the intercooler, or the pipes from the air filter to the turbo.

Another thing is the 4 original Nissan clips on the silicone hose that join the intercooler to the turbo and manifold loose tension, and stop sealing properly, changing them for proper jubilee clips can make a huge difference.
