So I take it you would recommend the zetec then, because my Mav begins to shiver and shake should I suggest we go over 70..... mph that is.

Tried the South of France in a Elldis Autoquest the year the south of france got flooded needless to say I will not be doing it again.... Im still trying to get the water out me wellies

It really depend whether you want to have fun - The Mav would be more fun, the Zetec would be more efficient:thumb2

I'm all for fun, but then sensibl,e would the kids be more comfy in the mav, there is more room but then again if anything goes wrong, hubby's company picks up the bill on the zetec

Iv'e stayed in that area for more years than i'd like to remember. Normally stay at Union Lido which is in Cavalino next town to where your going.

Stayed for a month last year and towed the caravan down there.

Your cheapest route will be Belgium. Luxemboug(Cheap fuel) Germany. Austria and drop into Itay just above where your going. Slightly more miles but a lot cheaper in tolls. France Swis and coming from Milan across can add up in tolls.

For an idea of fuel in a T2 although I was towing a large van was at last years prices just over £500. From Calais to Cavalino 860 miles.

If you have young kids you must do the pirate ship that travles along the coast you get to have a mock battle with another ship..

Venice is a short hop away but beware of the midday heat and crowds especially with young kids. Best going mid afternoon do the tourist bits but you must do the back streets to get the ambiance aand have a meal while you are there it's unbeliveable.

If I can help you with anything just ask.
