Hey folks. The welding on my truck, as you have seen, requires a little bit more professional help. Its simply not safe to drive (Gumtree has a lot to answer for!!)

Anyone ever got there truck transported anywhere?

I'm hoping it wouldn't be too expensive. Local company is 13 miles from the garage. Think they generally charge a call out and then pence per mile. This particular one quoted £105 for a 90 mile run, so couldn't be that much for such a short run.

Sorry only experience I have is hiring a trailer to transport another Terrano and an old mg.

Do you have anyone with a 4ws that could tow a trailer if you hired one?

£1 per mile is about the cheapest you will get, that is what I charge, Rick

Have asked for a price. The fact that its not too far away, expected it not to be too bad. Truth is! Must be done!!

Its a bit ironic, purchased the terrano to be able to pull a car transport trailer and it ends up in the back of one! :doh

what was the rate when you hired the trailer, recall the article.

did it come with straps etc.

personally would love to own such kit.

You a member of AA or the like?
"Break down" just pick that garage for repairs

trailer hire is £45 from Bann at end of my road, I think they do hourly as well.

I can't tow atm tho cos my surf needs a rear prop UJ & its got a dodgy fuel pump issue....sometimes it starts & some times not.

have you got a welder? I have box section & 3mm here?? My welder is too big a lump to cart about.

its up at yhe local garage getting sorted. They had a trailer although couldn't fimd the keys for it. The boss said it would be fine and proceed to charge up and down wee country roads... mustn't have been as bad as I though.

Good luck and keep us updated.

That tin worm gets everywhere, suffering the repairs on my wifes at the moment. Suspect a garage would have fixed it by now.
