hiya all.
need help, just been on Wilfs workshop to see about replacing glow plugs, it all seems straight forward except mine have either plastic or ceramic caps on an trying to remove them I broke one of them. Can anyone tell me how to remove them an do I need to put them back on cos there not shown in the workshop. thanks lads an lasses.

P.S its a mistral 2.7 turbo diesel.

they just like covers for nut finger an thumb unscrew them? cant remember as i took mine out in middle ford at bourton on water after brother drowned it there!

the windrush (river/stream) at bourton is only 9 ins deep 99% of the time, you must have been there in the monsoon season !
 
Jace is spot on, they are small plastic covered thumb screws, and when I had a poor starting problem in the new year I also managed to break one. I seem to recall using pliers to loosen them, they were too tight to remove by hand. I glued back together the broken one before refitting it.
 
You can buy the plastic covered caps from the ford main dealers, ive just ordered some, there just ouer a quid each.The old ones will come out with pliers.But you can youse the nuts that come with the new heaters.
