Are these any good?

They've given these a bloody highly seated opinion http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NISSAN-TE...arts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item27dc3787ef

I looked at those, but decided they were too full of superlatives.. Most people who over brag, don't live up to expectations... Not to mention, years ago, I discovered "PREMIUM QUALITY" is "estate agent" speak for Cheaply made...

I also read their listing, between the lines, and came up with this, which put me off, giving them any of my hard earned cash.

"SOURCED FROM FACTORIES"... plural... so you are reliant on the luck of the draw, depending on which "far eastern" factory was the cheapest this week"

"TESTED TO ISO9001:2000 STANDARD" there is no testing standard defined by the ISO, all that means is they have the ability to create tons and tons of paperwork for management and auditing, and have created their own test criteria, which, with out seeing the paperwork, could just be, "check to see if it is silver, and in the box". Not only that, but the latest is ISO9001:2008, so even their supposed testing, is 14 years out of date....

There were many other things as well, but when I got to the bottom, and discovered that they list one plug fits all... as I posted earlier, the Maverick and Terrano TD both have different recommended glow plugs, and then the TDi's of both of those, share yet a 3rd different one. If Lucas, NGK, and BERU can all be bothered to list 3 types, there must be a reason behind it, however small that is, so their listing can't be right.

With so much choice on Ebay, I always try to stay away from adds like that, and when in the past, I have been suckered in, I have always regretted it... Sometimes, you do get what you pay for.

I bought new Lucas glow plugs from eBay they were £25 for the set of four posted and all four burnt out in a week!!
Mine were marked up as Lucas but did not come in the boxes! I think they were fake

Yeah that def sounds like you brought some fakes there mate :doh

I brought mine from the local motor spares by me, £10 a plug, metal rod Lucas ones and it turns over a treat now :thumbs

I did a bit of ringing around yesterday, and checked up on prices for the Head Gasket set, plus the bolts for the car...

In the end, after talking to them, just to confirm everything was correct, I ordered off of a company on Ebay, called shirley9293.

Not only were they very helpful on the phone, but the item, ordered at 3pm yesterday, arrived, nicely packaged at 11:30 this morning. Not only that, but for a complete set, they were the cheapest on Ebay, and half the price of my (normally very cheap) local motor factors. Fantastic service.:clap:clap:clap

I can get blueprint ones for £16 a pop through my work.

Are these ones any good? Im debating changing them as the coil light is on for 4/5 seconds on average and she will occasionally crank for a few seconds when starting.

Whatcha reckon folks? :nenau

A lot of people seem to like the BluePrint ones.

There are 2 BluePrint numbers...ADN11807 and ADN11817.

ADN11807 seem to be around £11 to £13 on Ebay, where as ADN11817 are around £23 to £26, so you need to know which ones they have quoted on, to see if it is a good price or not.

What I can't seem to find out, is what the difference between them is, other than price and part number, as they are both listed to fit all Maverick's and Terrano's..:nenau:doh

Alex, don't know about the Terranos but on the Y61 Trol the coil light actually goes out a few seconds before the glowplugs have finished the startup cycle, my old Shoguns were the same. I only notice it when it's properly cold.

Try giving her just an extra 2-3 seconds after the light goes out before cranking, might make all the difference :thumb2

I do this too in the mornings :D usually she still cranks a bit tho.

Aaah, well in that case I would check the plugs, you can either test them all and replace any dud ones or just replace them all in one go.
