Hi,
So I brought the Honda CR-V and as per title, I am looking for some new tyres for it and was looking at the Grabber AT3 as a possible option. My off Road will now mainly consist of muddy/slippery grass on campsites, agricultural shows etc some rough stone/wet tracks and the ability not to be put off at the first sign of snow. They also need to have respectable road manners not slipping or sliding on a damp tarmac road as most of my driving is on road.

They will be going on 15inch alloys with a tyre size currently of 205/70/R15 96T

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Hi Thomas
I’m running cooper discoverer at, they are excellent value, not much more road noise than my road tyres they replaced and they are good on the road when wet and excellent off road. I got them from the web at 4x4 tyres.co.uk

I have a set of these on my Terrano I was looking for a more aggressive tread pattern at the time as my truck is used off road a lot. My tyre supplier talked me into having these for various reasons & I have to say I am really pleased with them.
Yes I have got stuck with them but both times I was towing an excavator on a trailer & just unloaded the excavator to get moving again.
They are fine on the road, my truck is very much a work truck & is usually towing but I don't have any issues even in the wet.

Cheers folks,

Had not looked at the Cooper Discoverer at Wheelie and if you mean the at3 ones a quick look online has thrown up some very good reviews definitely will be looking into them a bit more.

Thanks Terrano Steve, good to hear your thoughts match a lot of what I have read, also good to hear they have kept you out of trouble.

Bit of a thinking process trying to match a tyre with expectations and needs.

Thank again :thumb2

Have a look at the maxxis range, My dad has a AT type tyre similar looking to the above. I was surprised at their price new.

I had a set of Yokohama Geolander's on my X-Trail!

I really liked them. Performed well on the terrain you have described! :thumbs

I actually miss that car!

I wonder if you'd get away with the 215/75's to give it a more beefy look?

I know that I moved up a tyre size or two on the standard X-Trail rims.

Grabber at are top of my list for next at. Had some at on first terrano and we're brill. On last t2 had grabber at on rear and we're better than looked.

Grabber at have a useful bead rim protector too.

Not sure if the at3 looks as aggressive as the at2 which was a competitor to the bfg at but suspect all have had to be made quieter. Cooper are also good as tend not to be fitted as oem to vehicles so are more aggressive.
