gearbox/transfer box oil

1998 5 door teranno 2.7tdi manual can anyone tell me what is the correct oil for the gearbox and transfer box,the nissan hand book says API GL4 75-90 for the gearbox and the same for transfer box,my local auto suppliers agree for the gearbox but say the transfer box should have AQM oil in it.the miller oil web site says millermatic ATM fluid so any help would be appreciated.

at some stage Nissan changed the spec for transfer box oil to auto transmission oil, due to cold weather oil drag causing the front prop to turn and locking the front hubs, Rick

All I will say is make sure it;s defo GL4 not GL5, as the latter ruins our gearboxes :thumb2

Thanks for replys i have got GL4 for gearbox and is ATF what you guys use in the trans box?.

Yes I got ATF in my transfer box I got 3 owners manuals 2 T2 and 1 Mav, the Mav book says ESP-M2C 166-H, which if you look it up is ATF and 1 T2 book says ATF Dexron, Rick
